Hello, my name is Holly English. I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Secondary English education with a minor in history from Central Michigan University, graduating summa cum laude from the honors program in 2020. I am currently an English and drama teacher at Bay City Western High School in Michigan where I have earned tenure.

I firmly believe in the importance of the humanities, learning who my students are as people, and finding ways to make education more accessible. Currently, I am enrolled at Michigan State University where I am expected to graduate in May 2026 with a Master of Arts in Learning Experience Design.

Care for students, effective pedagogy, and relevant professional development are central to the field of education. While care for students and passion for the profession may abound, it can be difficult to determine what works best for a particular group of students in a sea of possibilities, and similarly, identify what relevant professional development means for a specific staff. To address these concerns, I decided to enter the field of Learning Experience Design.
